The 2023 Parish Annual Collection Drive
The 2023 Parish Annual Collection drive is underway. Father Al is inviting all parish households to make a gift according to your means, to assist with ongoing operating expenses. Celebrating the Beautiful Eucharist
📚We will be gifting the book “Beautiful Eucharist” to all parishioners as a Christmas gift on the weekend of December 16th & 17th.
Volunteers Needed
We are looking for adults (parents, grandparents or other adult parishioners) and 9th-12th grade youth volunteers, who can commit to help teach our amazing Catholic faith once a month. All material will be provided, and we will gather as a group to plan and train on the curriculum for this academic year. With the help of volunteers, we are planning to have smaller age-specific groups, in addition to our monthly family nights, which provide additional instruction and age- appropriate learning. The success of this program depends on dedicated volunteers invested in the future of our church. If you would like to volunteer, please reach out to Melissa at
Faith Formation Changes at St. John Fisher
As our current Faith Formation leadership team is changing, with Jen and Melissa moving on, we wanted to reach out to our families to assure them we are working to create and continue to offer comprehensive programs that embrace our families and their children in the growth and demonstration of their love of Jesus, His teachings and their Catholic faith. You will shortly be introduced to one of our newest Faith Formation leaders who will continue to build upon the current Confirmation program while providing an additional focus for all children receiving their sacraments in the coming academic year - to include First Holy Communion. Please stay tuned and access the faith formation registration link on our church website as registration remains open until September 1st.We have been very fortunate to have Jen and Melissa leading our programs and are grateful that Jen will continue to walk with our current 10th grade class as they receive their sacrament of Confirmation in October.Please reach out to the church office if you have any questions or if you would like to be part of the team providing insight and teaching for our faith formation population.
Back-to-School Means Back-to-Faith Formation
Registration is Open and Waiting for You. It is hard to believe that we are already into August and the Fall decorations are already in stores along with back-to-school supplies. With back-to-school, it also means Back-to-Family Faith Formation.
We are excited to build upon the family faith formation program by providing sessions and resources to parents; proven curriculum for children to learn about and demonstrate their faith; gatherings; and service opportunities that continue to nurture and express our Catholic faith.

A huge thanks to Phil Schadtle (Mike’s brother), who donated his time and equipment last week to help us resolve a large issue with the water at the rectory. This included excavating around the well pipe and back filling. This was a much larger job than we thought. We could not have accomplished this so efficiently and quickly if it weren’t for Phil.

Howard Dean Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award
Peter YorioOn July 21st, Pete Yorio was presented with the Howard Dean Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award. Mrs. Terry Concannon, the wife of the late Howard Dean, presented Pete with this award at the AHM’s 20th Annual Golf Outing. This award was in recognition of all the volunteer work he has done with AHM and for so many other individuals and entities in our community. We would also like to recognize all of Pete’s tireless volunteer contributions to St. John Fisher as a trustee, Minister of Communion, Men’s Group member, family man who does so much for our parishioners families, and so many more things he does for us.
Reminder: Monthly Collection for the Food Bank
Special thanks to all who regularly gather after 8:30 am Mass on the last Thursday of the month to make sandwiches for St. Vincent DePaul. With the financial support of the Knights of Columbus, the St. John Fisher community works to care for our brothers and sisters in Christ, one sandwich at a time. If your schedule allows, please consider joining us on August 31st im- mediately following daily Mass at 8:30 am.

Last month, you held a collection for gently used furniture and household goods to be used to furnish the apartments of our clients moving out of homelessness and into housing. Your drive completely filled our box truck and overwhelmed us with caring! The support you and your members have given to our organization, and our clients, is incredible and so very appreciated. The Knights of Columbus 15734 of Saint John Fisher Church of Marlborough proudly awarded three $750 scholarships to graduating Marlborough seniors during mass on July 15th. The proud recipients are Samantha Margo, Diana Vito and Grace Neumeuth. Congratulations to everyone and best wishes in your future endeavors.

Pope Francis has appointed Most Reverend Christopher J. Coyne, bishop of Burlington, as Coadjutor Archbishop of Hartford.
Archbishop Leonard P. Blair is the current archbishop of Hartford, and the appointment as coadjutor archbishop confers on Bishop Coyne the right of succession for the Archdiocese of Hartford.

Mass Intentions
Did you realize . . . One of the greatest traditions we have within the Catholic faith is having a Mass said for a loved one whether they are living or deceased. By doing this, we are offering Christ himself for the intention we indicate. Considering that the Mass is the highest form of communal prayer, offering a Mass up for a loved one is a beautiful expression of faith. Masses can also be said as an expression of gratitude, to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday or as we are reminded by the Council of Trent: "for the living and the dead, for sins, punishments, satisfactions, and other necessities."
As St. Leonoard of Maurice reminds us: Let us be diligent in hearing Mass as often as possible, and with all possible devotion; and furthermore, let us endeavor to have as many Masses as possible celebrated for our intention. Mass intentions can be scheduled by contacting the St. John Fisher office at 860-295-0001. Intentions can be offered for both weekly and weekend Masses for both the living and deceased with a suggested donation of $10.00 for a weekly Mass and $20.00 for a weekend Mass.
