Second Collection for the Catholic Communications Campaign

There will be a second collection on May 11-12 for the Catholic Communications Campaign. This campaign engages and builds Catholic communities using the internet, television, radio, and print media. Fifty percent of the money collected stays in the Archdiocese of Hartford to support local communication projects.

Because of HIPAA regulations, pastors and deacons are not given access to information about parishioners who are in the hospital. Please be sure to contact the parish office if you would like Father LeBlanc, Deacon John, or a Eucharistic Minister to visit you or a loved one who is hospitalized. Please include the patient's given name, hospital name, and dates of anticipated stay. In case of an emergency, please call Father LeBlanc or Deacon John. Our pastoral staff is also happy to visit those who are homebound.

Outreach, Service & Social Justice Opportunities

🫃🏽Baby Shower Supporting Babies and Moms

Beginning on Mother’s Day weekend, 5/11 & 5/12, we will host a baby shower for Caring Families in Willimantic. This organization provides support to moms (many times young and unwed) who give birth to their child. Supporting these moms in their decision is another part of our calling to honor the preciousness of life.

Non-perishable food, personal care items and household cleaning supplies are now accepted weekly at any Mass. Bags may be placed to the right of the altar. If
there is a specific need, we will mention it in the bulletin or check out the food bank directly at https://foodbankofmarlborough.wordpress.comr until April 7.

Mass Intentions

Mass 01Did you realize . . . One of the greatest traditions we have within the Catholic faith is having a Mass said for a loved one whether they are living or deceased.  By doing this, we are offering Christ himself for the intention we indicate.  Considering that the Mass is the highest form of communal prayer,  offering a Mass up for a loved one is a beautiful expression of faith.  Masses can also be said as an expression of gratitude, to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday or as we are reminded by the Council of Trent: "for the living and the dead, for sins, punishments, satisfactions, and other necessities."

As St. Leonoard of Maurice reminds us:  Let us be diligent in hearing Mass as often as possible, and with all possible devotion; and furthermore, let us endeavor to have as many Masses as possible celebrated for our intention.   Mass intentions can be scheduled by contacting the St. John Fisher office at 860-295-0001.  Intentions can be offered for both weekly and weekend Masses for both the living and deceased with a  suggested donation of  $10.00 for a weekly Mass and $20.00 for a weekend Mass.  

Reflection:

Ephesians 4:29 ~ No foul language should come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for needed edification, that it may impact grace to those who hear.
